It was officially established by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology in February 2024. Taking advantage of the location advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Innovation Center has now cooperated with many central and local state-owned enterprises such as China Merchants Group, Guangdong Power Grid Company, and Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. to conduct R&D and research on key technologies for embodied intelligent robots for application scenarios such as power, medical care, and rail transit. The Innovation Center aims to gather academic, research and industrial resources in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics in Guangdong Province, build an industrial service platform, and promote the formation of an independent and controllable embodied intelligent robot industry cluster.
