maxon's ESCON2 product family is a compact, high-performance four-quadrant pulse-width modulated servo controller. The product's high power density allows for flexible use with brushed DC and brushless EC motors (BLDC) in a variety of drive applications, with continuous powers up to 1800 W, and can be equipped with various feedback options such as Hall sensors, incremental encoders and absolute sensors. The free graphical user interface "Motion Studio" enables fast configuration, convenient monitoring and analysis as well as automatic commissioning of all drive systems.
Encoders can upgrade motors to servo drives, enabling high-precision closed-loop regulation of position, speed or torque. Whether it is an optical encoder for maximum precision or a magnetic principle for use in dusty environments – the application requirements determine the most suitable sensor technology. Incremental and absolute encoders provide suitable solutions for various needs. Multi-turn systems are also available, enabling precise acquisition of angle values across multiple rotation cycles. Our sensors are rugged and fully integrated without significantly increasing the overall size of the motor.
